Phyllis B. Lyman, 90, of Olathe, KS passed away on Thursday October 20, 2016. Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 5th at Grace United Methodist Church of Olathe. With a memorial service to follow at 11:30 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Olathe Memorial Cemetery.
Phyllis was born February 10, 1926 in Sioux Falls, SD to Wayne and Anna Hadley. She had seven brothers and sisters. She was a 1944 graduate of Haven High School, in Haven, KS. She worked in the accounting dept. at King Radio for many years, was a volunteer at the Olathe Medical Center and an election day volunteer.
On September 7, 1947, Phyllis married her high school sweetheart, Mike Lyman and they were married for over 66 years. Together, they raised four sons, Marc (Becky) Lyman of Hutchinson, Ks; Chuck (Kathy) Lyman of Manhattan, Ks; Kevin (Tammy) Lyman of Lee's Summit, Mo; Kent (Susan) Lyman of Overland Park, Ks.
Phyllis is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Amy Fowler, Mindy Davis, Torey Overstreet, Tiffany Ruzicka, Zachary Lyman, Megan Lyman, Lindsey Lyman and Lauren Lyman and her four great-grandchildren Haley, Addison and Xavier Fowler and Sadie Searcy.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mike on April 30, 2014.
Phyllis enjoyed her family and friends, the Kansas City Royals, Kansas State Wildcats, playing bridge with friends and a good happy hour. She was full of life, stylish and determined.
She will never be forgotten and she will be missed by all.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Hospice House of Olathe Medical Center or Grace United Methodist Church, both of Olathe, KS.
