Phimpha Khamsihong was born on January 5th, 1945 in Champasak, Laos to Nahk and Amkha Khamsihong. She lived a life filled with love, warmth, and kindness. A devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, she touched the lives of everyone she met.
Phimpha Khamsihong is the third child of Nahk and Amkha Khamsihong. She is preceded in death by her husband Ky Khamsihong. She is survived by her oldest sister, Bounneung Syhabout, older brother Bounthieng Khamsihong, and younger sister, Montha Khongmaly. She is survived by her son, Chamnong and daughter Vongsavanh "Ta" and grandchildren Matthew, Mason, Vanessa and Vanna.
Phimpha married Ky Khamsihong in March of 1963 at Wat Amad Village in Champasak, Laos. They had two children: son, Chamnong and daughter, Ta. The family of four fled persecution from the new regime in Laos to a refugee camp in Thailand in 1984. They remained at the camp for a few years before coming to the United States in June of 1986. The family stayed with their younger sister in Spring Hill before settling in Olathe, KS. Phimpha worked at a company that manufactured balloons for a few years then was able to retire. She joyfully spent her retirement years cooking, taking care of her beloved grandkids and their family pets.
Phimpha accepted christ in her heart and was baptized in 1998 at Lao American Baptist Church, in Lenexa, Kansas. She was an active member of the Church and enjoyed connecting with the community.
Throughout her 79 years, Phimpha embraced life filled with grace and resilience. She cherished family above all else, created a home filled with laughter, traditions, and unwavering love. Her legacy will continue to live on through the generations she nurtured and inspired.
Phimpha Khamsihong peacefully went home to be with the Lord entering God's Kingdom on Thursday, February 22nd at 9:15 PM. She was surrounded by her loving family and beloved pets, Tobi and Moose.
