Phillip O. Morgan, 72, of Olathe, KS passed Thurs. July 9, 2015.
Phillip was born Nov. 5, 1942 in Kansas City. MO to Francis "Val" Morgan and Nettie Morgan. He graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School and following his discharge from military service in 1972 he obtained a bachelor's degree from Emporia State. He worked for the Johnson County District Court as a Court Services officer, devoting the next 32 years of his work life working with children.
Phil met the love of his life Rebecca "Becky" Bubb-Alcorn through a mutual friend and they were married in 1981.
He was preceded in death by both parents and grandchild, Andrew Chestnut.
Phil is survived by his wife Becky, his sister Joyce and husband, Tinsley Davis, and beloved niece and nephew, Rebecca Weaver and Timothy "Ted" Davis. He was a devoted husband and father of Bryan Morgan, Marcella Morgan-Chestnut, Jeffrey Alcorn, and Jennifer Alcorn-Lapine. He had ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. They are: Julia, Audrey, and Stephen Chestnut; Kaitlyn and Victoria Morgan; Shelby Schieterlie-Lapine; Ellis and Izzy Lapine; Mason and Adam Alcorn; and great-grandchild, Cairo Gaylord.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donation to the Salvation Army or Joyce Meyers Ministries.
