Peter Joseph Votypka, 36, of Olathe, passed away on July 21, 2020.
He was born on January 21, 1984 to Michael and Margaret Votypka in Olathe, KS. He was a collector of associates degrees from Johnson County Community College with a whopping total of three. Peter worked for the past 12 years at Capital Federal Savings, and most recently as an assistant bank manager.
On August 2, 2015, he married Erin Grace Sawdy. Peter and Erin lived in Basehor, Kansas, with their son, Brooks Albert Votypka.
He was the founding member of the Basehor Golf and Cigar Club, inventor of the selfie, destroyer of the Emperor, and creator of official identification cards. He enjoyed boating with his family, driving his Subarus fast, and men's fashion in quadruplicate. When he wasn't joyfully hitting golf balls into his lake or meticulously manicuring his yard, he loved attending live Kansas City sporting events.
Peter is survived by his loving wife, Erin, and son, Brooks; his parents, Michael and Margaret Votypka; oldest brother, Will Votypka, his wife, Carrie, and daughters, Ellie and Charlotte; older sister, Becky Savage, her husband, Jim, and daughters, Maggie and Darby, goddaughter, Kinsey, and godson, Jimmy; older brother, Michael Jr., his wife, Kelli, and daughter Sophie; older sister Mary Votypka, son, Michael, daughter, Rori, and bonus daughter, Liz; older sister, Caroline Baldwin, her husband, Jeremy, and sons, Donovan and Daniel, and daughter, Evelyn; and younger sister, Monica Votypka, and her fiancé Robert; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his loyal canine companion, Mac.
A Rosary will be held on Friday, July 31, 2020 at 4:30PM at the Penwell-Gabel Olathe Chapel located at 14275 Black Bob Road. Visitation to follow from 5:00-7:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in the name of Brooks Albert Votypka at Commerce Bank at 11900 Strang Line Road in Olathe, Kansas.
