PETER KENT ARNOLD, of Olathe, KS, born January 25, 1928 in Providence, RI, died from natural causes on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at the age of 83. Services will be held on Wednesday, April 6, at 10:00 am at St. Aidan's Episcopal Church, 14301 S Blackbob Rd. Olathe, Kansas where the family will receive friends at 9:30am. Interment, Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
Peter is survived by his wife of 59 years, Alva Lundberg Arnold, sons Peter Kent Arnold, Jr., and grandson, Nathan, of Olathe, KS, son Richard Edward Arnold, his wife Robin Arnold, and children Stephanie and Tim Arnold, all from Blue Springs, MO.
He is also survived by his brother, Jospeh Jenks Arnold, Junior, of Hershey, PA, and sister, Linda Salkin, of Scottsdale, AZ.
Peter was employed by the Coats and Clark Company for 43 years. During this time, the family lived in Toccoa, GA, Stamford, CT, Rumford, ME, and finally, Olathe, KS, where he and Alva have resided for the past 31 years.
Peter graduated from Moses Brown School, Providence, RI, in 1946. He also served in the U.S. Army from July 1946 until December 1951.
Peter's favorite life-long hobby was ham radio. He and Alva were active members of St. Aidan's Episcopal Church in Olathe, KS. He also achieved the rank of 32nd Degree Mason.
Peter was very much a family man, always putting the needs of his family first. He will be remembered for his steadfast interest, care and support. He was a loyal, faithful, and caring husband, father and grandfather, and will be missed by all.
