Pauline Mabel Schantz Duck, 91, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2020.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.

Pauline was born on July 27, 1928, the daughter of David R. and Ada Fanny (Christner) Schantz in Washington County, Iowa. She graduated from Washington High School in 1945 and then attended AIB College in Des Moines, Iowa to study accounting.

On September 2, 1948, Pauline was united in marriage to Cecil Chester Duck, Jr. of Wellington, Kansas in Des Moines, Iowa. Pauline lived her married life in Kansas and surrounding cities, but primarily Olathe, KS. She worked in accounting and bookkeeping with several companies, including Delco Credit Union in Olathe.

Pauline was a member of Olathe Presbyterian Church and was active in various church groups. She was a member of the Olathe Garden Club and a volunteer with the Olathe Community Hospital Auxiliary in the hospital gift shop for many years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and enjoyed working in her garden and playing card games with friends.

Pauline is survived by 5 children: Debra Hayes (Jim), Frisco, TX, Diana Duck, Mesa, AZ, Greg Duck, Olathe, KS, Paul Duck (Linda), Shawnee, KS, and Mark Duck, Overland Park, KS; 4 grandchildren: Jayne Holmes (Tim), Brad Bussjaeger, Kelsey Moore (Dwight) and Cassidy Duck; 4 great grandchildren: Timmy, Sophia, Peter and William Holmes; and sister, Betty Beenblossom, Washington, IA.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Cecil Chester Duck (1993), and siblings Verda, Darlene, Lavina, Donald and Ellen.
