Mr. Bosworth graduated from Lane Technical High School, Chicago, Illinois, before enlisting in the Army Air Corps in 1944, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant assigned to the 8th Air Force, 305th Bombardment Group, 366th Bomber Squadron, serving as a tail gunner on the B-17, the 'Flying Fortress'. On March 2, 1945, his aircraft was shot down over Trier, Germany. He remained captive until the liberation of Europe. Paul was honored by the United States of America with the American Theater Ribbon, the EAME Ribbon (with four bronze stars), Air Medal (with two oak leaf clusters), and the Victory Medal World War II.

Upon returning home, he completed two years of architectural engineering studies at Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois. He was married to Shirley Natzke on June 21,1947. Paul and Lee Bosworth joined Grace United Methodist Church in 1973, and supported the community and spiritual mission of the congregation, until health issues precluded their active participation. Mr. Bosworth was active in the Heart of America chapter of ex-Prisoners of War of Kansas City, Missouri, and the 305th Bombardment Memorial Association.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Mr. Bosworth's name to a favorite charity of their choice. The family wishes to deeply thank Mr. Bosworth's caretakers at the Garden Terrace at Overland Park, Kansas, for their kind, respectful, and thoughtful care.
