Patrick J. Brough, Sr.

Patrick J. Brough, 93, passed away on December 4, 2021, at Rose Estates of Overland Park. He was born on March 27, 1928, to Thomas and Stella (Bushey) Brough of Kansas City, Kansas. Pat had eight siblings - four sisters and four brothers.

He served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1946.

Pat had a successful career at Yellow Freight and retired after 30 years of employment.

Pat met Dolores Mae Gro while attending Bishop Ward High School in Kansas City, Kansas. They fell in love and were married on May 6, 1950. Pat was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by their three children Michele Hinds of Atchison, Kansas; Patrick Brough, Jr. of Lenexa, Kansas; and Carolyn Stull of Overland Park, Kansas. He is also survived by six grandchildren, one great grandchild, and one sister.

Pat was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dolores Mae Brough, his parents, his brothers and three of his sisters.

Our dad was a wonderful father and grandpa. He always had time for us, even after a long day of work. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren's sporting events, attending their school events, and gathering as a family.

Dad was a devoted husband. He shared a faithful and spiritual life with mom. He gave her unwavering love and support through their 71 years of marriage. He loved mom to the very end, hanging on for her, making sure not to leave her behind. Twenty-two hours after mom's passing, he joined her where their eternal love continues.

We are truly heartbroken about losing our dad. We will cherish the memories we have of him. His smile and dry sense of humor will be greatly missed, but he is where is meant to be, by mom's side in eternity.
