Our kind, patient, and strong Patti Savage (Letak) passed away on January 5th, 2024, at 64 years young. She was born on April 27, 1959, in Omaha, Nebraska to Benjamin and Josephine Letak. She married her high school sweetheart, John, in 1981. They settled down in Overland Park, KS and were blessed with three children. She cherished the time she spent with her family.
She had a contagious laugh and a playful sense of humor. She was a great listener. She encouraged and inspired others while navigating her own challenges with multiple sclerosis. She loved to tell stories, complete the daily crossword, and savor all of her "little treats" - ranging from ice cream to gummy bears. Patti will be remembered by her family and friends whenever they get cozy with a warm blanket and a cup of cocoa or apple cinnamon tea.
While she will forever be with us in our hearts, she left behind her husband John; her children Jessica (Mike), Janelle (Lucas), Jack (Elizabeth) and their children Ada and Henry; her dad Ben; her siblings Steve (Jody), Jane (Jim), Ben (Seri), Jo Ann (Mark), Jimmy (Tracy) and their families; her beloved cat Callie; and her many friends. She will join her mom, Josephine, in Heaven.
In lieu of flowers, we request donations be made to the KU Multiple Sclerosis Achievement Center. Patti's family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, love, and support during this time of loss. A service will be held at the Penwell-Gabel funeral home in Olathe, KS on Sunday, January 14th at noon. Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Everyone is welcome. A reception will follow the service.
