Patricia Manson

Patricia "Patsy" Joan Manson

Patsy was born February 14, 1958 to James Maynard Hawkins and Elizabeth "Bets" Hawkins, at Olathe Community Hospital. She attended St. Paul's Catholic school for her elementary years. She graduated from Olathe North High school in 1976. She went on to study at Pittsburg State university but left before finishing her nursing degree. On August 19, 1978 she married Dwight Manson of Desoto, Kansas. In September of 1979, she gave birth to her daughter, Jamie. In 1983, she had a son Dustin. In 1988, Patsy and her family moved from Olathe, to Louisburg, Kansas. Patsy was a stay at home mom and watched a few other children, until her children started elementary school. Patsy worked in various fields over the years and all of her jobs had one thing in common, helping people. Patsy had a huge heart for helping others and listening when someone needed a friend to talk to. She enjoyed cooking for everyone and was very talented cook. Patsy took her cooking very serious, no one was ever to leave her table hungry, nor were they to leave without tasting every dish. Patsy loved to travel with her husband in his semi and enjoyed visiting flea markets throughout the Midwest. She is preceded in death by her brother Mike Hawkins, her grandparents Bertha and Charles Bradford and her father James Maynard Hawkins. She is survived by her mother Elizabeth Hawkins of Olathe, her husband Dwight Manson of Louisburg, her children Jamie Ballard (Scottie) of Olathe, Dustin Manson (Tiffeny) of Drexel, Mo, and 5 grandchildren Bo Ballard, Taylor, Gavin, Brylee, and Carter Manson.
