Patricia L. Maddux Waugh, "Pat", 77, of Olathe, KS, died January 12, 2015 at Overland Park Medical Center after a short illness. Even though her friends and family miss her very much we know she is in Jehovah's memory awaiting a "resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous Acts 26:15."
She was born November 1937 in Mexico, MO to Mildred Hanna Maddux and George R. Maddux. She graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1955. After high school she attended business school where she met and married Wallace Eugene Waugh "Gene" on August 16, 1958. Gene knew Pat's heart was not in business and encouraged her to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. She attended and graduated from Research Hospital Nursing School in 1960. Their first son Mark was born while she was attending nursing school and her second son Chris 23 months later.
Pat was an intelligent and capable Registered Nurse for many years especially enjoying cardiology. She studied the Bible and was baptized as one if Jehovah's Witnesses on July 23, 1969. Her greatest joy was serving Jehovah for 46 years, sharing her faith with others and raising her sons to do the same. In addition, she was an accomplished seamstress sewing many garments including the suits the boys wore to meetings. She also played the piano beautifully and taught others to play. Pat loved to travel and went to many places throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.
She is survived by her sons; Mark R. Waugh and his wife Lynn; Chris T. Waugh and his wife Dawn. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Wallace Eugene Waugh "Gene" and her brother Jerry Maddux.
A memorial of her life will be held Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 2 pm, Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1113 S Ridgeview Rd, Olathe KS with a life celebration being held after in the community room at Ridgeview Village, 11860 Sunset Drive, Olathe, KS.
