Patricia L. Blitgen, 76, of Olathe, passed away March 9, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 7pm on Monday, March 13 at First Christian Church, Olathe. Visitation will be held from 6:15-7:00pm, also at the church.
Patricia was born December 31, 1940 in Hastings, Nebraska to Lyle and Evelyn Athey.
She grew up in Jasper, Indiana, and was a contract specialist for the federal government where she retired in 2004 after 30 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John Blitgen, son Michael Blitgen and sister Shirley Drennan.
Surviving family include her brothers Tom Athey, San Marco, CA, Bill Athey, Mundelien, IL, her son, John Blitgen, Mt. Pleasant, IA, and her daughter, Deborah (Matthew) Weimerskirk, and Susan Uzzell, both of Olathe, KS. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Hannah Weimerskirk, John Weimerskirk, Kathryn O'Keefe and great-grandson, Jack Morss, all of Olathe, KS.
Her interests included trips to the casinos, playing all kinds of games, particularly cards and bingo. She enjoyed music and singing, and was an excellent cook and loved to cook for others. She also enjoyed going antiquing, and visiting estate sales as well.
Patricia was a friend to everyone she met, and she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandson.
