Pamela J. Cunningham, 70, of Mission, KS, was called home on October 18, 2017. She was born on June 26, 1947 in Springfield, MO. She graduated from St. Agnes High School, and attended Maryville University in St. Louis, MO where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She said many times that her greatest joy in life was being a mother, and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Pam is survived by her five children: Tamara (Grant) Cunningham, Carrie (Michael) Holcomb, Melissa (Kelli) Cunningham, Michael (Heather) Cunningham, and Cynthia Cartwright, and her eleven grandchildren: Matthew, Lauren and Catherine Cunningham, Benjamin, Margaret, Katherine, and Alison Holcomb, Taryn and Camryn Cunningham, and Jacob and Courtney Cartwright.
She is also survived by her four sisters: Mary (Jack) Kilroy, Sandra Helliker, Constance (Michael) Martin, and Amy (Michael) Osborne, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur F. and Mayrene E. Helliker.
Pam will be remembered for her excellent cooking skills, love of dogs, especially her dog Spuds, and her love of family. She was a strong woman with a kind heart, and baked the best chocolate chip cookies anyone ever had.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00pm on Monday, October 23, 2017, with visitation to follow until 9:00pm at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S. Blackbob, Olathe, KS.
A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at 10:00am at Church of the Holy Cross, 8311 W. 93rd St, Overland Park, KS followed by inurnment at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 8321 Quivira Rd. Lenexa, KS.
