Olive Maxine Brunsmann, 106, of Olathe, KS passed away February 15, 2021 in Olathe, Kansas.
Olive Maxine Brunsmann was born June 8, 1915 in Davies County the daughter of William Harlan Howard and Olive May (Ryan) Howard. She graduated from Moulton, Iowa Public School in 1932. She attended Kirksville, MO College for 1 year. She wanted to be a school teacher.
Then she was united in marriage to Richard Brunsmann on October 31, 1935 in
Bethany, Missouri, and they were married 53 years.
Richard and Maxine moved to Connecticut in 1938, and they lived in Connecticut as caretakers of a dairy farm for eleven years. They welcomed four children into the family.
In 1951, the family moved to Earlham on a farm. She was a homemaker, helped on the farm, was a 4-H leader for eleven years and enjoyed working with 4-H girls.
Her hobbies included traveling, fishing, playing cards, bingo, going to Tama on the bus, crafts, knitting and quilting.
She enjoyed being with her family and friends, especially on birthdays and holidays. She loved all of her family. Maxine lived a long, loving life. She sure enjoyed basketball and watching all the sports…"Go Chiefs" as she often said, as well as Iowa State and Iowa athletic teams.
Maxine as preceded in death by her parents, William and May Howard, her husband Richard, son Richard Jr., two grandsons, Rusty Smith and Richard Welch, two sisters, Florence Kirby and Olaf Osborne, six brothers, LaVerne Howard, Marvin Howard, Wayne Howard, Ermon Howard, William (Jr.) Howard, and Lawrence Howard.
She is survived by three children, Anna Lea Brunsmann of Crystal River, FL, John Brunsmann of Newton, IA, and Nancy Welch of Olathe, KS. Seven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren and a special lady, Whitney Devereaux, and many other family members and friends.
She was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church and Saint Joseph Altar and Rosary Society.
