Oj Simpson

September 21, 1951 — January 7, 2020

Donald "OJ" Simpson, 68, of Olathe, passed away on January 7, 2020 at Garden Terrace Nursing Home, Overland Park, KS. He was born on September 21, 1951 to Raymond and Dana (Thornton) Simpson in Little Rock, AR. OJ worked as an Autobody Collision Repair Instructor for the Olathe School District.

On March 14, 1981, he married Janet Sue (Smith), and they made their home in Olathe, Kansas.
OJ was always full of joy and kindness and he never met a stranger. He enjoyed making people laugh, pulling pranks on those around him and could make a funny hat out of just about anything. He was a wonderful son, husband, father and Papaw who loved spending time with his family and friends, working on cars, and drinking an ice-cold Dr. Pepper. He was a member of College Church of the Nazarene and Director of the Optimist Swimming Program in Olathe.

OJ is survived by his mother Dana (98), his loving wife Janet, daughter Kristen Deladurantaye (Ken) and son Rusty Simpson (Jen), grandchildren Skylee, Taven and Beckett, siblings Judy Banz and Shirley Ertel. He was preceded in death by his father Raymond E. Simpson.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020, 10:30 am at College Church of the Nazarene, Garrett Chapel, Olathe, KS, with visitation to follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
