Norma "Jean" Jackson, 89, of Olathe, passed away at home in the presence of her family on October 12, 2021.
She was born on January 8, 1932 to Earl and Dolly (Slavens) Blackburn in Kansas City, Kansas.
Jean married Forrest Jackson on April 22, 1951, and together they raised their family in the Kansas City and Shawnee areas. Forrest and Jean were longtime members of the Prairie Center Church of God in Olathe, Kansas. Their walk with Christ was very important to them and they lived their lives as an example of His love.
Her married life was spent as a homemaker and stay-at-home mom and she was great at it. Jean's family was her pride and joy and she enjoyed taking care of them. If you happened to stop by unannounced, you would most certainly not leave hungry. She was always ready to feed anyone and everyone at a moment's notice and feed them well! Throughout the years Jean also worked various part-time jobs to help supplement the family's income. This included childcare for other people's children as well as caring for her grandkids while their parents worked. You only needed to mention those grandkids or great grandbabies to see Nana's face light up with joy.
She is survived by her son Mike Jackson and his wife, Jeri of Olathe, and her daughter Kim Buff and her husband, Cecil of Olathe. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Widener, in 1988. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Crystal Fuller and husband, Scott of Olathe, Kelli Broers and husband, Steven of Miami County, Stephanie Hutcheson and husband, Jon of Ottawa, Joshua Widener and wife, De Anna of Gardner, Spencer Buff, Alexis Buff and Blake Buff of Olathe, and thirteen great-grandchildren, Drew Fuller, Jared Fuller, Dakota Broers, Isla Broers, Anna Broers, Sophia Hutcheson, Caleb Hutcheson, Devon Hutcheson, Hayden Hutcheson, Riley Hutcheson, Harrison Hutcheson, Logan Widener and Jonah Widener. She is also survived by one sister, Kathy Newby of Gardner. She was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
