Norma Jean Hunt, 80, of Olathe, KS, passed away January 25, 2015, at home after months of loving care. She was born July 8, 1934 in Liberal, Kansas to the late Carl and Eleanor Stricklin Kendall. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Lewis Hunt, Sr. and brothers, Robert E. Kendall, Sr. and James C. Kendall, Sr.
Norma is survived by her sister, Marjorie Walton, Lawrence, KS; two daughters, Theresa (Keith) Keel, Diana Henderson and three sons, Charles L. (Carol)Hunt, Jr, Richard A. (Janet) Hunt and Kenneth E. (Sue) Hunt; 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
After graduating from Highland Park High School in 1952, Norma briefly attended Washburn University. She worked for various companies prior to entering the health industry in 1969. She performed medical office administration and health insurance billing and benefits coordination for multiple medical offices for nearly thirty years, including Turner Medical Clinic in Turner, KS and Olathe Family Practice in Olathe, KS.
Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Fri. Jan 30 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home 14275 Blackbob Road in Olathe. Visitation is immediately prior starting at noon. Burial will be in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens in Shawnee, KS. A reception for family and friends will follow at the home of Diana Henderson
