Nicholas Gibson

December 3, 1988 — May 13, 2016

Nicholas Ryan Gibson was born on December 3rd, 1988. God Almighty brought his Soul back to Heaven on May Twelfth, 2016. Our Father in Heaven and Nicholas are walking down the golden paved streets right at this very moment, Nick strumming his guitar and singing praises to the Lord at the top of his lungs. Nick never missed a chance to grab his Guitar and sing to anyone close enough to hear him belt out a new song he just learned or simply an oldie but goodie. Playing Guitar and singing was his life during his early adolescence and into adulthood.

Nick was brought into this world screaming and crying as all babies do. But there was a hint of laughter in his screams that was undeniable. My wife thought I was crazy, telling me, newborns don't laugh, but I am positive I heard laughter mixed in with those infant moments of crying and screaming. Throughout his early childhood, this laughter became more boisterous and common as each day passed. He never took life too serious in his childhood and he carried this attitude towards life into his adulthood. Nick was always trying to make others feel the joy he was feeling in his heart each day by his actions, jokes and his great ability to play and sing music. He was an average student growing up but at each Teachers meeting his Mother and I attended through his school years. His Teachers would always tell us, Nick just doesn't take his academics as seriously as he should, (His academic testing in regards to his IQ were always well above average) but he sure makes everyone in the classroom feel better about themselves by his care free attitude and positive comments he would make to other classmates and the jokes and comedic voice imitations he would do throughout each school day. He literally had Jim Carrey, Mike Myers, (Austin Powers) and many other professional comedians' voices and mannerisms down solid. He was hilarious. He had his Mother and I rolling with laughter with these jovial talents he would display on a daily basis. He could quote comedic movie lines and mannerisms he had watched years ago, exactly the way there were played out in the movie, but he couldn't remember where his homework was when it was due or where he left his car keys from the night before. This showed his Mother and I where his true priorities were.

He was an outstanding athlete during his youth and early adulthood. I coached him in Baseball and Football. To this day, I still say without any question, he was the best 3rd Baseman I had ever witnessed during his little league baseball years. He was also an outstanding and gifted middle linebacker in his little league youth games and it carried over into his high school playing years. He played this position on the gridiron with the same ferocity and intensity he displayed for his love for playing guitar and singing music.

Nick had this rare ability to focus on taking life as it came and trying his best to make others laugh. He felt by making others laugh and sing along with him, he was assisting them by taking some of life burdens off of their shoulders in the process. He always had this uncanny ability to make others feel good about themselves, laugh and sing along with him, no matter what the situation may be at the time. During the later portion of his adulthood, he discovered another one of life's passions which he treasured and carried deep within his heart and soul. This was his extreme new found love for his partner in life and Fiancé, Katy Clark. They met almost one year earlier, to the day he passed. They both were in a deeply loving, sharing and compassionate love affair. The kind of relationship God intends everyone to find during their lifetime, but most never do. The love they felt for each other is extremely rare these days. We watched and witnessed this love and compassion they felt for each other blossom and grow on a daily basis. Everyone in the Family knew this girl was the one for him. He now could devote the remainder of his life, sharing, caring, giving, sacrificial devotion and loving his new companion for eternity. Everyone in the family feels God blessed him, Katy, all of us, because God allowed these two human beings to share this powerful, deep emotion of love and companionship at least in his final year, here on Earth. We all praise God in Heaven for this one beautiful gift he allowed these two young people to experience during his final year of life.

Nicks final love and treasure during his adulthood season of life were his two children, his extremely handsome, adorable son, Kaedyn Justice McKenny and heavenly beautiful daughter Gracelynn Ann Gibson. During these past few months of life he was among us, Nick was doing his very best to become more involved in their lives. He wanted nothing more than to be that Father they both deserved. Then this tragedy occurred and he lost his chance to prove he wanted this more than anything in his life. I knew his sentiments to be true. He expressed the deep desire to me many times there was nothing more important to him during these past months then to make up for the years lost with his two children. He had decided to make it priority one in becoming that Good Father they both deserved. I'm positive, over time, Nick would have become that fantastic Father and friend to both his kids. He just needed a little more time.
