NICHOLAS PALM DiIORIO
Age 79, went home to be with the Lord on March 28, 2007. The family suggests memorials to Villa St. Francis, 16600 W. 126th St., Olathe, KS 66062, the Alzheimer's Association, or the American Diabetes Association.
Nick was born April 10, 1927 in Marcus Hook, PA to Dominic and Mary DiIorio. He owned and operated DiIorio Cleaners in Wilmington, DE for many years, was a founding member of The Serenader's Band, and was an active member of St. Matthews Catholic Church.
After moving to Kansas City in 1976, he owned and operated President Garden Cleaners, along with his wife, Pat. After the death of his wife in 1989, Nick became a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, and was active in the Spirit Movers and President of the Uno's of Johnson County for many years.
Next to his love for his family, Nick enjoyed music and dancing and we are comforted in knowing that he is dancing once again.
He is survived by his children, Frances Dowling, Platte City, MO, Michael (Beverly) DiIorio of Kansas City, MO, Karen (George) Gilliam of Lee's Summit, MO, Steven (Karen) DiIorio of Raymore, MO, grandchildren Jennifer Alexander, Paul Dowling, Jennifer Watson, Amber Farmer, Melissa Balten, Ryan Gilliam, Anthony DiIorio, Joseph DiIorio, and Brittney DiIorio, and two great-grandchildren, James and Samuel Balten. He is also survived by his sisters, Betty Hoffmann and Louise Schuchler, and special friend, Peggy Dowling. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances "Pat" DiIorio.
