Neta M. Thrasher, 85, of Olathe, KS passed away January 26, 2021 at home. Cremation is planned with a service at a later date. Please check back for details.
Neta was born on the family farm on August 30, 1935 in Allison, Kansas to Florent and Elva Bader. She attended school in Jennings, Kansas and graduated high school there. Neta moved to Ottawa, Kansas in 1953 to be close to her sister and later met and married the love of her life, Howard Thrasher. They were married 45 years until Howard passed away in 1999.
Neta and Howard moved their family to Olathe, Kansas in 1968, and Neta started work for the Olathe School district, first as a lunch lady, then manager of the lunchroom at Olathe North High School. She retired in 2002.
She was preceded in death by her husband Howard, her parents, sister: Florence Broyles, brothers: Raymond and Erwin Bader and great granddaughter, Kayli Wulf.
She is survived by her beloved sister, Alice Lemon of Taylorsville, Utah, children Allen Thrasher (Lori) of Olathe, Sheryl McKelvey (Mike) of Haysville, Kansas, 5 grandchildren: Tasha Denton (Cody), Traci Barton (Jason), Tami Wulf, Matt Thrasher (Melissa) and Kelly Mazurek (Chad) and 12 great grandchildren: Jayden, Caden, Campbell, Lucas, Adeline, Cameron, Hailey, Adalyn, Vivien, Lukas, Isabella and Briana.
Neta's family would like to say a special thanks to her neighbor Willard McCully. Because of his watchful eye and giving heart, Neta was able to remain in her home as she wished to do.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association or Shriners Hospitals.
