Neil Albert Rose, 73, of Olathe, KS went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Chris on August 3, 2020 at Olathe Hospice House.
He was born on June 20, 1947 to William Albert and Lulu Elmina (Dowling) Rose in Wayne, Nebraska.
On February 15, 1969, he married Marsha Diann Blue, and after several military stations they made their home in Olathe, KS.
Neil served in the U.S. Army for over 23 years, retiring as a First Sergeant. He spent a tour and a half in Vietnam as a combat engineer in the 1st Calvary Division. He was also stationed in Germany, Fort Devens, Mass., Fort Leonard Wood, MO as a Drill Sergeant, Washington, MO. as a recruiter, Fort Polk, LA. before retiring from Fort Leonard Wood, MO. After retiring from the military he worked in the nursing home industry, a finish carpenter, and numerous other side jobs.
He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 7397 Lenexa, KS. He loved camping, hunting, and fishing with his sons. He especially loved just spending time with his family!
Neil is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Diann, son Craig D. Rose and his wife Rita Rose, his other son Jeffrey S. Rose and his companion Dee McMillin, and grandchildren Jayden Foster, Rylan Foster, and Taylor Riley Rose-McMillin. He is also survived by his sister Dianne Jane Rico and her husband Bruce, and his brother Donavan Edward Rose and his wife Becky, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his oldest brother Gary Dwayne Rose.
He is and always will be missed!!
