NATALIE BURN JOHNSON
85, of Aberdeen Village, Olathe, KS, died July 2, 2005 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on May 24, 2005. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 6th at 10:30 a.m. at the Monticello Union Cemetery, Hwy. 7 and 75th Street, Shawnee, KS. A memorial service will also be held on Wednesday, July 6th at 3:00p.m. in the Chapel of Aberdeen Village, 17500 W. 119th Street, Olathe, KS. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests remembrances to the Salvation Army of Olathe, 420 E. Sante Fe Street, Olathe KS 66061
She was born in Columbus, NE on June 14, 1920 and lived in St. Edward, NE until she moved at the age of 15 to Lincoln, NE. She attended the University of Nebraska and graduated with a double major in 1942. She received her Masters Degree in Psychology from Nebraska in 1946. Natalie was a member of Mortar Board and a member of the Phi Mu sorority She taught Mathematics at Meade, NE, and Gillette, WY, and then worked at the Veteran's Administration as a psychologist for one year. She met her husband, Gordon Johnson in 1946 and was married September 3, 1949. They traveled considerable throughout the Midwest . During their eight year assignment in New York, she established a fabric business which operated as Johnson's Fabric Farm. She maintained this business until 1970, while also serving as a board member of Cedar House and the P.E.O.
Natalie and Gordon moved to Aberdeen Village in 2000.
She is survived by her husband, Gordon Johnson, niece Christine Smith and her husband Jack of Estes Park, CO, and their two children Melinda and Adrian.
