Nancy Mae Sledd, 81, of Overland Park, passed away on July 26, 2019 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
She was born on December 17, 1937 to Ivan and Hazel (Craig) Weller, in Mt. Vernon, MO.
Nancy worked as a secretary for ATT Southwestern Bell until her retirement.
She was united in marriage with Patrick Sledd on December 6, 1968, in Shawnee, KS. Throughout their marriage, they lived in Lawrence, KS, Shawnee, KS, Warsaw, MO, and Louisburg, KS.
She was a member of Blue Valley Baptist Church and enjoyed baking, crafting, and participating in activities at Silvercrest at Deer Creek Retirement Center, where she had been living for the last six months.
Nancy is survived by her son, Craig (Yvonne) Pingleton of Austin, TX; her sister, Iva Lee Colgan of Olathe, KS; her cousins, Brenda Jewett of Olathe, KS and Wanda Baze of Overland Park, KS; her "bonus" children, Jim Sledd of Osawatomie, KS, Randy and Carol Sledd of Peculiar, MO, Lynn and Linda Sledd of Wamego, KS, Rita Swafford of Warsaw, MO, Larry and Elaine Sledd of Lawrence, KS, Don and Dolly Reynolds of Lee's Summit, MO; and their numerous children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Patrick, and Steve and Jesse Sledd.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 2, 2019 from 9-10AM at Blue Valley Baptist Church in Overland Park, Kansas. Funeral ceremony will follow at 10AM. Burial will take place at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Olathe, Kansas.
Memorials are suggested to Blue Valley Baptist Church and the American Cancer Society.
