Myrle G. Mann Phelps, 94, Olathe, Kansas, passed away April 5, 2012.
Myrle was born in Grand Pass, MO and grew up in Marshall, Missouri. She was a graduate of Marshall High School in 1935. She moved to Olathe in 1943 with her husband Roger (who preceded her in death in 1961) where she was a homemaker. She went to business school in the mid 1950's and became an underwriter for Patrons Mutual Insurance Company where she worked until retirement.
Myrle was a volunteer for the Olathe Medical Center's Hospice Program, and a member of the Grace United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two daughters; Brenda (Frannie) Fasching and Patricia Schuman . She also leaves 5 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
Myrle married Jess Phelps in 1965 and shared the lives of his 3 children, Glenna Walton, RJ Phelps and Sandra Berndt, and his 7 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Jess passed away in 2002.
Myrle was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers, and sisters.
The family suggests contributions to the Olathe Medical Center Hospice House Fund c/o Olathe Medical Center.
