Myra Greenfield, 81, of Overland Park, passed away January 9, 2017. Internment will be private.
Myra was born October 20, 1935 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Joseph and Miriam (Nichols). She married Walter Greenfield on October 16, 1960.
She is survived by Walter; her two sons: Phillip Greenfield and partner, Jill, William Greenfield and wife, Hayley; grandchildren, Kelly Greenfield and Cole Greenfield; sister Patricia Fry; brothers Joseph Nichols and wife, Joan, John Nichols and wife, Patricia, Phillip Nichols, and Steven Nichols and wife, Betty. She was predeceased by her brother, Frederick.
Myra was a life-long collector and dealer of Antiques, specializing in American primitives and folk art. She was a Daughter of the American Revolution and a painter and artist. Myra was a loving and devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and aunt who enjoyed cooking traditional recipes and taking care of her family.
She was raised on a farm in the mountains of Pennsylvania and loved to return to visit her brothers and sister and many nieces and nephews. She had a love of the rural Pennsylvania countryside, the Pennsylvania Dutch, and the old stone farmhouses and historic buildings throughout the region. She loved to garden and decorate and always maintained a beautiful and warm and welcoming home.
She will be missed.
