Milton Harmony

September 24, 1930 — April 4, 2012

Milton Eugene Harmony, 81, went home to be with his Lord on April 4, 2012. Milt was born September 24, 1930 in Lincoln, NE to Philip and Helen (Michal) Harmony. After the family moved to Kansas City, he graduated from Westport High School and from UMKC with a Bachelor of Arts in 1951. He enlisted in the U.S. Army, and was honorably discharged. He married Mattie Violet Greer on December 28, 1951. Milt participated in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and assisted in coaching several athletic teams involving his three children, and he also truly enjoyed his three grandchildren. Milt retired from Union Carbide after 37 years of loyal service, returning to Kansas City with Mattie to be close to family there. Their post retirement travels took them to Belize, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and several trips to Europe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Phil in 1994 and Helen in 2012, one brother Michael in 1963, his wife Mattie in 2007 after almost 56 years of marriage, and one son Stephen in 2009. He is survived by his daughter Judy (Steve) Andrews of Conifer, CO, son Bob (Dee Dee) Harmony, and 3 grandchildren, Paige, Patrick, and Rachael, all of Knoxville, TN, and his brother, Marlin and wife Nancy of Lawrence, KS.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Central Presbyterian Church, 3501 Campbell, Kansas City, MO. The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer's Association, to Central Presbyterian Church, or to a charity of your choice.
We will miss him greatly, but have to smile knowing that he is reunited with Mike, Mattie, Steve, Phil, and Helen.
