MILDRED (MILLIE) WELCH
Born Jan. 30, 1926 - received into heaven June 9, 2012 - Joining her beloved husband of 40 years, A. Wilson (Wils) Welch. Loving mother of Kitty Wansley (Merle), Mary Davis (Al), John Welch, Barbie Phillips.
Grandmother of Michael Davis (Mary) Kindell Berger (Kelly), Jamie Davis -Kreutzer (Helmut), Adam
Welch (Katie), Tiffany Pennington, Brian Hazzard (Jackie) Fawn Welch. Great-Grandmother of Skielyn, Amber, Elizabeth, Emma, Kaylee, Ben, Maddie, Mark, Kylee, William, Aiden, Nova, Wade. Sister of Iris Vick (Bobby), AB (Bum) Harris (Mildred), Preceded in death Elizabeth Outland (Collin), Ronald Harris (Betty).
Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Millie started the Candy Stripers at Shawnee Mission Community Hospital in the early 60's. She was a member of Queen of the Holy Rosary Church, Rosary Society, PTA and Red Hat Society. Millie was a resident of Villa St. Francis for 2 ½ years, where she received love, respect, and care by the wonderful staff. Millie never knew a stranger, and will be fondly remembered for her brilliant blue eyes and sweet loving smile! She was lucky in love for a second time, meeting Don Smith of Canada. He reopened her passion for music and dancing. They lived life to the fullest for many years.
When the sun has left the skies, God watches with a million eyes. So may she dance among the stars until we meet again. We love you Mom.
Family and friends are invited to rejoice in the celebration of the life of Millie Welch, Sat. June 23. Visitation from 2-3:00 pm with service beginning at at 3:00 in Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 Blackbob Rd., Olathe 66062. Donations may be given in Mildred Welch's name to Villa St. Francis, 16600 W. 126 Street, Olathe, KS 66062
