Mildred "Millie" Marie Hayes, 84, Merriam, KS, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2007. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Lawrence, KS.
Millie was born Dec. 16, 1922 in Corning County, KS. She married Edward B. Hayes, Jr. in 1940 in Paola, KS. She worked for Drs. Beebe, Nash, and Waugh for 24 years, and was a house mother for several sororities and fraternaties including Sigma Nu Fraternity at the University of Kansas her last 4 years before retiring in 1995.
She leaves a son; Edward B. Hayes, daughters; Kathleen M. Hayes and Deborah H. Sevett, a sister; LaDorna Stimpfel, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
