Mickey Eich

Mickey David Eich was born on March 15, 1989 in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, the second child of Terry and Jenny Eich. He passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2014 in Overland Park, Kansas. In addition to his parents, Mickey is survived by his sisters, Jamie Marie (Drew) Van Scyoc, Kelly Lynn Eich, and Kacie Belle Eich; his grandmothers Leota Eich and Willehelmina Allen; his aunts and uncles, Randy and Michele Eich, Kristy and Lyle Whigham, Mary and Jeff Jensen, Paula and Randy Olson, David and Barbara Allen, Chester and Yolanda Allen, and Paulette and Greg Goorsky; as well as many loving cousins and other caring relatives. Mickey was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Harold Eich and Paul Allen; uncle, Roy Allen; and cousin, Caroline Whigham.

Mickey graduated from Blue Valley Northwest High School in 2007. An avid lover of sports, Mickey excelled in baseball, basketball, football and golf during his youth. He also held a special affinity for the Florida Gators. Mickey was a loving son and brother who would have done anything for his family. A gentle soul who touched the hearts of all that knew him, he possessed a smile that would light up any room. While Mickey left us much too soon, he is now forever at peace with our Heavenly Father.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2014, at Church of the Ascension, 9510 W. 127th Street, Overland Park, Kansas. Burial will be immediately following the service at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 8321 Quivira Road, Lenexa, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Ascension in Mickey's memory.
