Michael "Mike" Anthony Toth, age 60, of Olathe, KS, passed away June 10, 2016 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center after a long battle with kidney disease.
Michael was born in Dayton, Ohio and moved to St. Louis and then the Olathe, KS area after graduating from Northeast Missouri State University with degrees in Criminal Justice and Psychology. He was a member of Phi Sigma Epsilon fraternity where he was Rush Chairman and Public Relations officer as well as holding many other positions.
After graduation, Michael went to work for Bonanza Steak House, and then was a manager for Long John Silver's where he met his future bride. He worked at the University of Missouri Kansas City, UMKC, as Assistant Food Service Director for 10 years. He then went on to work as a Food Service Supervisor at Lansing Correctional Facility, where he was referred to as "Mr. T." He was then promoted to Corrections Counselor at the Lansing Facility, and moved on to become a Parole Officer for the State of Kansas out of the Olathe Office before he moved back to the Lansing Correctional Facility as an Internal Parole Officer.
Michael was a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Paul's Catholic Church, and was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
Michael leaves behind his loving wife of 33 years, Dorothy Toth, his sons Robert Toth, 24, of Troy, KS, and Jonathan Toth, 20. He also leaves behind his beloved French Bulldog, Josie.
Mike loved his wife and sons with all his heart. He was very giving and accepting of everyone. He loved unconditionally and was immensely forgiving. He was an extremely generous individual who always put others first. He affected and influenced the lives of many people, who became his friends and family. Mike was a tough man who fought long and hard every day for his health and his family. He persevered through adversity to become a great father, and man who will always be remembered.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to American Kidney Foundation, Midwest Organ Network, or St. James Academy.
