Michael D. Schmidt

Michael (Mike) D. Schmidt, 55, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on March 19, 2021 at home surrounded by his family after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

Mike was born in Kansas City, Missouri on July 29, 1965 to Diane and Gary Schmidt and was raised in Overland Park, Kansas.

Following his high school graduation in 1983, Mike attended the University of Kansas for a semester before he decided to follow in his father's footsteps and join the family business. Mike was an incredibly successful businessman; he guided and grew Schmidt & Klaus to what it is today - the premier floral distributor in the metro and beyond.

Mike is survived by his parents Gary Schmidt and Diane Delamater Schmidt; his wife, Sarah Druliner-Schmidt; his son Kyle Schmidt; and his stepchildren Ben, Abby, and Nick Bock.

Mike had a love of music - listening, curating, compiling, and making it.
