MICHAEL "MIKE" WAYNE HANKINS
Age 58, passed away January 23, 2010 at his home in Olathe, surrounded by his family. Military honors will be given at the graveside services in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens. Mike was born October 23, 1951 in Kansas City, MO to Jim and Imagene Hankins. He married Mary Clay on October 11, 1986, and together they made their home in the Olathe area. He was most recently employed with Fred Pflumm Plumbing until the time of his illness. He was a former member of the Olathe Bass Club, and also the VFW and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home, his children Josh Hankins of Olathe, Jackie Hankins of Lenexa, Lisa Gardner of Olathe, and Wendy Petersen of Westline, MO. He is also survived by his mother, nine grandchildren, and his sisters Vicki Houseman and Cheryl Jones, and his brothers James Hankins and Kevin Hankins, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father in 2003.
Mike was loved very much, and will be greatly missed.
