MERLIN OWEN IVERSON, age 81, went home to be with the Lord on December 5, 2010. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 11, at 1:00 pm at the Olathe Christian School, 515 S. Ridgeview, Olathe, KS, (formerly St. Mark's Lutheran Church) where the family will receive friends following the service. Memorials are suggested to St. Mark Lutheran Church, P.O. Merlin was born November 10, 1929 in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota to Henry and Esther Iverson. He graduated from St. Olaf College in 1953, and married Delores Olson on July 13, 1958 in Nelson, MN. He served our country in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. Merlin was employed with International Harvester, and retired after thirty years of service.
Merlin was an active member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, and he enjoyed volunteering as a bus driver for the Sunshine Breakfast Club.
He is survived by his wife, Dee, of the home, his sons Mark (Kim) Iverson and John (Sharon) Iverson, four grandsons; Jordan, Stefan, Stuart and Collin Iverson, one sister Joan Koch, his sister-in-law Harriet Iverson, and aunt Alma Kvistero, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
