MELVIN A MUNTZ
Born March 7, 1926 in Seward, KS, passed away April 20, 2009 in Olathe, KS after a short illness. Private family services will be held .
Melvin served our country in the U.S. Navy in Alaska on the U.S.S. Trenton during WWII. He married Barbara Hellwig, and they were married 23 years.
Melvin was employed with Union Pacific Railroad for 36 years, retiring in 1984. He will be remembered for his years of coaching and dedication to girl's softball.
Surviving are his son Edward Muntz and wife Brenda of Olathe, KS, his daughter Faith Bandler and her husband Sam, of Olathe, KS, four grandchildren; Chad Muntz and wife Andrea, Matthew Bandler and wife Jennifer, David Bandler, and Cassie Dolinar and husband Bryan. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Barbara Muntz, his sisters Velma Hale, Doyn Jacobs, and Joyce Thompson, his great-grand-daugher Maia Sonrisa Dolinar, and step-grandchildren Christopher and Jaryd Dolinar. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Ethel Muntz and brother Lloyd Muntz.
