Went to be with Jesus on November 13, 2010 at her home in Olathe, KS . Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 17 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S Blackbob, Olathe followed by funeral services on Thursday, November 18 at 11:00 am at College Church of the Nazarene, Garrett Chapel, 2020 E. Sheridan, Olathe, KS . Interment, Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials are suggested to Wayside Waifs of Kansas City or to the church.
Melody was born July 11, 1963 in Des Moines, Iowa to Bill and Lois Weston. She attended Mid-America Nazarene University from 1981-1986. She was a CNA and loved to care for the elderly and all those in need. She married Daryl Armfield on August 11, 1984 in Indianola, Iowa and together they made their home in Olathe.
Melody enjoyed participating in Women's Ministries thru Central Church of the Nazarene and College Church of the Nazarene.
Her passions were reading, watching movies, cooking, spending time with her family, and particularly caring for her husband, Daryl.
She is survived by her husband, Daryl, of the home, her mother Lois Weston, of Olathe, her brothers Steve Weston and his wife, Jenny, of Blue Springs, MO and Andy Weston and his wife, Debra, of Olathe, four nieces and four nephews, mother-in-law Margaret Armfield, her brothers-in-law, James Armfield and his wife Wanda, and Duane Armfield and his wife, Syd, all of Topeka, KS.
Melody would remind us all to "Stop and smell the roses, Enjoy Life, Live, Love, Laugh, and to Cherish the Moment."
