Maxine Chapin-Mortensen, 88, of Olathe, KS passed away Saturday July 13,
2013 at Olathe Medical Center.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to The
Deaf Cultural Center.

Maxine was born July 17, 1924 in Bean Lake, MO to John and Rhodilla Chapin.
She retired as a Para-Teacher at Kansas State School for the Deaf, Emery Hall.
Maxine, a true country girl, loved gardening and being outdoors. Although deaf, she loved music and singing. Above all, she held family dearest to her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Husbands Lyle Mortensen, Sr. and Max Mossell. Sisters Fern, Hester, Kathryn, Velma, brother Loren and grandson Michael.

She is survived by 4 sons,10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.
