MAX B. YOST
Max B. Yost, age 92, passed away February 19, 2010, at his home in Olathe, KS. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 22, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S. Blackbob, Olathe, KS, followed by a graveside service on Tuesday, February 23, at 10:00 a.m. at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Stanley, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the charity of your choice.
Max was born November 7, 1917, in Lamoni, Iowa, to Harry and Mary Yost. The family moved to the Olathe area in 1919, and Max graduated from Olathe High School in 1935. He served our country in the US Merchant Marines during WWII, then returned home to begin his career farming. Max and Mildred Louise "Pat" Gordon were married over 40 years, and she preceded him in death in 1986.
He leaves behind his son, Craig (Shelli) Yost of Olathe, grandchildren Frances, Amanda and Shannon Yost. Also surviving are great-grandchildren Xavier and Adrianah. He was preceded in death by his son Brian Yost in 1987.
