Mattie Ruth Bouser was born on April 1, 1936 to Annie Lou Spencer-Harris and Van Harris in Ashton Mississippi. She was the youngest of her five siblings. Mattie confessed hope and faith in Christ at an early age. Upon leaving Ashland Mississippi Mattie moved to Memphis Tennessee. Mattie was united with George Seymour and born into that union was seven children. Mattie and George were divorced, and she later moved to Paola, Kansas and united with Lindsey E. Bouser.
Mattie was a member of First Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Paola Kansas under the leadership of Rev. Charles Kennybrew, and later moved to Olathe Kansas and united with Lenexa Christian Center under the leadership of Pastor Mike Purkey.
Mattie retired from Witco after 20 years of service. After which she began working for First Student as a bus driver which she was presently working. She was preceded in death by her father Van Harris and her mother Annie Lou Spencer-Harris, two children who preceded her in death Joyce Smith, and Michael Seymour, three sisters, Mildred Reddick, Earline Watkins, Jearline Reddick, one brother who preceded her in death Franklin Harper and by her sister Lillian Bowles, her brothers George Harris and Van Harris, Jr., her sister-in-law Monie Lee Harris, Julie Wilhoite, and Mattie Poole. Also preceding her in death one brother-in-law Norman Bouser.
Mattie leaves to mourn her passing, her husband Lindsey E. Bouser, five children Vurches Webster (Kansas City, Kansas), Brenda Vanderbilt (Milton) (Memphis, Tennessee), Corliss Lindsey (Rodney), Timothy Seymour (Teresa), George A. Seymour (Nicole), all of Olathe KS, and one adopted son Clifford Lucas (Sandy) Osawatomie KS. Mattie leaves one sister Lola B. Finnie (Robert) of Memphis Tennessee. Also mourning her passing she leaves three sister-in-laws, Joyce Marie Berry, (Lenexa, KS) Norma Jean Bouser, (L.A. California), Teresa Turner (Kansas City, Missouri), and one brother-in-law Tommy Bouser (Kansas City, Missouri). Also mourning her passing she leaves 22 grandchildren, and 31 great grandchildren. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
