Maryalice Futrell, 78, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022. She was born on February 13, 1944, in Concordia, Kansas, to Harry and Viola (Wheaton) Wagner.
After graduating from high school, she attended Kansas Wesleyan University and graduated from the Asbury Hospital School of Nursing. While attending nursing school, she met and married the love of her life, Earshel Futrell, and together they enjoyed many years filled with family, friends, and lots of travel, visiting over 350 National Parks. Maryalice practiced as a Registered Nurse for forty-two years in various settings including hospitals and long-term care facilities. She concluded her nursing career with the federal government working as a Health Care Specialist for the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services, retiring in 2007.
Maryalice is survived by her son, Eric (Crystal) Futrell, grandson, Ethan Futrell; brothers Norman (Netta) Wagner and Stanley (Sybil) Wagner, and many wonderful nieces, nephews, in-laws, and family friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Earshel Futrell.
The family will receive guests for a visitation from 6:00-8:00pm on Friday, March 18, 2022 at Penwell Gabel's Olathe Chapel, 14275 S. Black Bob Road, Olathe, KS 66062. Her graveside service will be at 12:00pm on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Clear Creek Cemetery in Springfield, MO.
