Mary "Flossy" Florence Winters, 78, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, February 7th, 2023. She was born on April 16th, 1944, in Lewisburg, Kentucky to Charles and Frances (Bollig) Wooldridge and was the third born of eleven children.
Mary grew up in Hays, Kansas where she attended Marian High School and graduated in 1962. She then married Kenneth Winters in 1964 and they moved to Olathe, Kansas in 1965 where she continued to live for the last 58 years. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Olathe, Kansas where she was devoted in her faith. Mary worked most of her life as a homemaker and loved being a wife, sister, mom, grandma, and great grandma more than anything. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, cooking, and getting together with her family.
Mary is survived by her husband, Kenneth Winters of the home and three children: Wesley Winters of Las Vegas, Nevada, Michelle Zanin of Gardner, Kansas, and Keith (Debra) Winters of Wellsville, Kansas. She has four grandchildren: Brandon Jones of Pleasanton, Kansas, Jessica Wendt of Gardner, Kansas, Rylee Winters of Iola, Kansas, and Kyla Winters of Kearney, Missouri. She also has three great grandchildren: Carter, Wyatt, and Gabe. She is also survived by her ten siblings: Sharon Gottschalk, Charles (Nancy) Wooldridge Jr., Patricia Wooldridge, Phillip Wooldridge, Barbara Obholz, Frances Wooldridge, Pamela (Roy) Driskill, Bruce (Elonda) Wooldridge, Brian (Annette) Wooldridge, and Nancy (Skip) Schlyer.
She was preceded in death by her son Kent Winters, her father Charles Wooldridge, and her mother Frances Wooldridge.
The family will receive friends for a visitation from 6:00-7:45pm on Monday, February 13, 2023, at Penwell-Gabel's Olathe Chapel with a Rosary following at 7:45pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Olathe, Kansas followed by burial in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Mary's memory be made to the Olathe Hospice House, 15310 S Marion St, Olathe, KS 66061.
