MARY LOUISE (HARTLEY) POPE
Age 88, passed away January 12, 2008 in Olathe, KS. A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 14 at 2:00 p.m. at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Olathe. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S. Blackbob Rd., Olathe. The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Olathe Medical Center, 20333 W 151st Street, Suite 301, Olathe, KS 66061.
Born August 28, 1919 to John and Julia Hartley, she was a life-time resident of Olathe. She married Robert C. Pope, and to this union their son, Charles, was born. Mary Louise was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Olathe, the Olathe Progress Club, and was Past-president of the Johnson County Republican Women's Party. She was very dedicated to her community and was proud of her family's heritage.
She is survived by her son, Charles and his wife Peggy, of Plano, TX, her grandchildren; Michelle Bittick and her husband, Joel, Clayton Pope and his wife, Shelly, and Colin Pope and his wife, Julie. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren; Jenna, Macy, Lainie, and Kyra Bittick, and Jaden and Raeleigh Pope. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 1986, three sisters and one brother.
