MARY KATHLEEN "KATHY" DUNN, age 52, went to be with the Lord on October 12, 2010 in Kansas City, MO. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Thursday, October 14 at 1:00 pm at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S Blackbob Rd., Olathe, where the family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 am. Kathy was born January 28, 1958 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Garry and Mary Owens. She was married to Mr. Alvin L. Dunn on July 5, 1985 in Kansas City, KS. She went on to earn her Bachelors Degree in Business Administration.

Most recently Kathy was employed with BWR Corporation as a Proposal Manager. In her spare time, Kathy enjoyed crocheting and painting clay pottery. Kathy and her husband, Alvin were both long-time members of First Family Church of Overland Park, KS.

She is survived by her husband, Alvin, her children Tina (Randy) Turner, Tonya Dunn Swink, and Stephanie (Keith) Monsivaiz, grandchildren Christian, Tyler, Dakota, Ashley, Krystal, and Alvin Turner; Cody Leann Walley, Judy and Shelly Swink; and Vivian and Vincent Monsivaiz; her brother Garry L. (Bleeka) Owens, and her parents Garry W. and Mary E. Owens. She is also survived by her mother and father-in-law James and Viola Dunn, her sister-in-law Linda (Lynn) McFadden, brother-in-law Calvin (Sandy) Dunn, and brother-in-law Larry (Vanessa) Dunn, and many nieces and nephews.

Kathy's family wishes to thank the staff of Kansas City Hospice House for their support and care during the final days of her eleven-year battle with cancer.
