Mary K. Burdolski, 89, of Shawnee, KS passed away Thursday January 13, 2011. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Monday Jan 17, at St. Michaels Catholic Church, 504 Sixth St. Axtell, KS Burial will be in Saint Michael Cemetery, Axtell, KS. The Rosary will be said at 4pm Sunday Jan 16th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Shawnee, KS followed by celebration of life service. The family will receive friends following the service Sunday. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to St. Michael's Catholic Elementary School, 605 Elm St. Axtell, KS 66403.
Mary was born April 24, 1921 in Axtell, KS to Peter and Irene Porting. She graduated from St. Michael's High School before going on to graduate from St. Margaret's Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. She married Frank G. Burdolski in 1947 and raised their family in Kansas City, KS. She was devoted to her faith and dedicated to raising her family.
She was preceded in death by her Husband Frank in 1977, two infant sons Joseph and Carl David, and her beloved sister Rita Kuckelman.
She is survived by one daughter Donna Stewart of Shawnee, KS, Five sons Steve Burdolski (Chelle) of Overland Park, KS, Terry Burdolski (Jane) of Overland Park, KS, Frank "Joe" Burdolski (Toni) of Chandler, AZ, John Burdolski (Candy) of Lenexa, KS, Jim Burdolski (Kim) of Lenexa, KS. Sisters, Eileen Shaughnessy, Margie Buessing, Anna Marie Kuckelman, and Dorothy Landrum. Brothers Al Porting, Gene Porting, and Gerald Porting. 13 grandchildren and 9 great grand children.
