Mary Ann Marie Maass, age 86, passed away June 5, 2012 in Overland Park, KS. A chapel service will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 11:15am in the Chapel of Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004.
Mary Ann was born January 17, 1926 in St. Louis, MO. She was a graduate of Beaumont High School and married Ernest A. Maass in August 30, 1958. Mary Ann retired from Union Electric and along with Ernest, moved to the Kansas City area to be near family. She enjoyed participating in her card group with friends, and was an avid flower gardener. She cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter; Linda (Kevin) Joerling, son; Steven (Stephanie) Maass, and 6 grandchildren; Jason, Mark and Lisa Joerling, and Spencer, Hunter, and Carter Maass, and her brother, Walter Curtis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest, in 2011.
