Marty E. Meinen, 70, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020. Marty was born on March 12, 1950 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Martin and Flo (Little) Meinen.

Marty grew up in Caseyville, IL and graduated from Collinsville, IL High School in 1968. He furthered his education graduating from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Marty married his soulmate Susan (Saul) Meinen on June 7, 1975. Marty and Susan have two children; Megan (Aaron) Smith of Olathe, KS. and Matthew (Bridget) Meinen of Fenton, MO. He has two handsome grandsons, Hunter Smith (3) and Connor Meinen (5 months), with another Smith grandson on the way.

Marty, always the hard charger, finished his professional career as a meat buyer for Associated Wholesale Grocers in Kansas City, KS. Previously, he was a meat manager and merchandiser for Schnucks Markets in St. Louis Missouri and helped open their Kansas City locations. He was a member of Meat Cutters Union, Local 534 and 88.

Marty is survived by his loving wife Susan; children, Megan (Aaron) Smith and Matthew (Bridget) Meinen, and grandsons Hunter and Connor. Also, his sister Barbara Roth and nephew Steven (Julie) Roth.

Marty was preceded in death by his parents Martin and Flo, his in-laws Melvin and Shirley (Thomas) Saul, brother-in-law Dennis Roth and niece Dawn Roth.

The family will hold a private funeral Mass at St. Paul Catholic Church in Olathe. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Marty's memory be made to Cancer Action KC at www.canceractionkc.org. (Please copy and paste the URL address into your browser).
