Martin Potter

January 10, 1925 — August 24, 2023

Martin "Ralph" Potter, 98, of Olathe, passed away on August 24, 2023, at Aberdeen Village. He was born on January 10, 1925, to Lester and Bessie (Martin) Potter at Central City, IA.

On March 10, 1950, Ralph married Genevieve Gable. During WW2, he served in the Army in the Philippines. Ralph worked as a heavy equipment operator for Witwer Farms in Cedar Rapids, IA for 30 years. Following that, he worked for 13 years as a millwright for the Quaker Oats Company.

In March of 2006, Ralph and Genevieve moved to Olathe, KS to be closer to their children. They were members of Westside Church of the Nazarene.

Ralph is survived by his daughter, Susan (Frank) Moore, and his son, Steven (Cindy) Potter, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve (Gable) Potter, his parents, 1 brother and 4 sisters, as well as 2 granddaughters and 1 great-granddaughter.

Visitation will be held at Penwell-Gable-Olathe Chapel, Olathe, KS on Tuesday, August 29th, at 1:00 p.m., with the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. Following the service, burial will take place at the Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
