Martha B. Fisher, 89, passed away on April 20, 2012 from natural causes.

Martha was born in El Paso, Texas on July 6, 1922, the first of three children to Charles Behner and Madge Clayton Behner. She grew up in Kansas City, MO attending Border Star Elementary and Southwest High School. Martha graduated from Southwest in 1939 and attended Kansas City College where she began dating the love of her life, Joseph Richardson Fisher. Martha and Joe were married at the bride's home April 22, 1943. Martha and Joe were blessed with one daughter and three sons.
Martha was a talented artist who loved to share her work with family, highlighted by an exhibit of her best paintings at the Village Church. Most recently she took great pride in painting any requested subject for her great grand children. "Painting Ladies Studio" was held in her kitchen for family members wanting to share in her creativity, technique and imagination. Martha cherished her weekly bridge game with her close friends for over 65 years.
Martha was lovingly referred to as "Marta", "Ta Ta" or "Granny" by her family. She was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother and role model with the unique ability to open her heart to everyone. Her sometimes loud and always infectious laugh will be greatly missed by all. She is survived by sons, Stephen Fisher of Overland Park, KS, David (Deana) Fisher of Overland Park and Charlie (Shelley) Fisher of Parker, CO, son-in-law Ronald Baker of Garden City, KS; 10 grand children and 8 great grand children. She was preceded in death by husband Joe on November 16, 2010 her daughter, Susan Baker, on December 27, 2002, and her brothers Bob Behner and Dick Behner.
