Marlene Lea Bean, 76, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. She was born on June 6, 1945 in Russell, Kansas to Homer and Ruth (Nesbitt) Green.

Marlene is survived by her loving husband, Howard Bean, children, Connie Bean, Christie Bean, Weston Bean, brother Lyle Green, grandson Brian Carter, granddaughters Addilynn and Kenslee Bean, great grandson Keagan Carter and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Robert.

Moving to Olathe in 1981, Marlene began working at Patron State Bank in 1973 as a teller and held several positions for different banking organizations. Prior to her retirement, she worked for the Olathe Chamber of Commerce as receptionist/ Financial Assistant for 19 years. Through the years Marlene volunteered for several organizations specifically McCracken's Gymnastics (including several different rolls in the Booster Club) and Boy Scout Troop 83. After retiring, she enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and bowling.

A memorial service will be held at 4:30 pm on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Penwell Gabel's Olathe Chapel with the visitation following until 7:00 pm. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Vincent Cemetery, north of Luray, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Marlene's memory be made to the American Cancer Society, 1100 Pennsylvania Ave, Kansas City, MO 64105.
