Mark Alan Thomas, September 7, 1961 – June 26, 2021, Overland Park, Kansas. Mark Alan Thomas, Overland Park, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
Mark was a man of strong faith. He has joined our Lord in the Kingdom of Heaven. He was born on September 7, 1961, in Lawrence, KS, to his parents, James and Wauneta Thomas. Mark married his high-school sweetheart, Denise, on October 25, 1980. An extremely hard worker, Mark started Duranotic Door in Olathe, Kansas. Mark had the great honor of working with many talented and dedicated employees – all family and friends alike.
Mark was a true renaissance man. There was nothing he could not handle. However, the role he was best at was being a loving husband and father.
Mark had an entrepreneurial spirit and always loved a good project. He truly celebrated each and every day. He approached each day as a blessing from God. Throughout his life, Mark battled obstacles and challenges. He tackled each challenge with kindness, heart, and a wry sense of humor. His priority in
life was his relationships: relationship with God, family, and friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. His generosity and heart knew no bounds.
Survivors include his wife, Denise Thomas, and children Rachel Thomas-Kai (Harrison); Jacob Thomas (Linda); and Samuel Thomas (Liam). Survivors further include his mother, Wauneta Thomas, siblings Gail Donovan (Dan) and JE Thomas (Anne), and mother-in-law, Donna Knapp. Mark leaves behind many family members and friends with cherished memories. The family will have a private burial to mourn. A celebration of life will occur at Penwell-Gabel in Olathe, KS on September 12th.
