MARJORIE ELEANOR SCHREIBER
87, formerly of Topeka, died Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at Delmar Gardens nursing home in Lenexa, KS. Marjorie was born June 16, 1921 in Hutchinson, KS, the daughter of Samuel and Maude (Graff) Sidlinger. Her mother died when she was four years old. She and her siblings were raised by her father and other relatives in Hutchinson, Newton and Fredonia. Marjorie graduated from Hutchinson Junior College and taught two years at a country school. She married Marvin Schreiber, son of Ralph and Cleta (Burgert) Schreiber, on May 6, 1944 in Fredonia. The family lived in Kansas City, KS and moved to Topeka, in 1950. Marjorie worked at the Topeka Public Library for many years, where she was known as the "Energizer Bunny". She enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking. Marjorie is survived by three daughters, Margaret (Jim) Doll of Barrington, RI, Linda Erickson of Grantville, KS, and Cynthia (Dennis) Stephens, of Overland Park, KS; one sister, Beth McCoy of Peoria, AZ; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1986, and also a sister, Helen Standiferd, and one brother, John Sidlinger.
